You only live once, so you might as well take the largest chunk of meat and run off with it as your nine siblings chase after you, then tackle you to the ground to take your dinner from you.

Species is irrelevant; try it at Thanksgiving :D

The Brookfield Zoo has been giving its African wild dogs full pieces of meat as enrichment to improve their health and encourage natural behavior.
Or so they say. It's a fine line between enrichment and "because it's awesome."

awesome! Carcass feeding is also very good for the teeth and gums, as well as behaviour not just as individuals but group behaviour! great shot!

The question is can they tackle me before I eat it :3?

Or... can you eat it before they tackle you?

(Or better yet, why the heck are you eating raw, dirt-coated ribs? XD)

That would be in the case where I was an animal which they don't apparently give a crap about it they just eat it regardless if it's full of dirt or not =P
