That Wolf is Green

Looks like someone found the bison pies!


Wolf Park has wolves. Wolf Park also has bison. What do you do if you have wolves and bison?
Why, you have wolf-bison demonstrations, of course!

The animals are carefully monitored during the demonstration and their health is checked before it begins. Only two or three unpracticed wolves are brought into the enclosure at a time, and all ill or injured bison are moved into a separate pen. Bison are incredibly strong, large, and protective of their young; even in the wild, it is rare for a weak bison to be killed as prey. No wolves, bison, or humans (there was a stray cat once...) have been injured in this presentation since it began way back when Dr. Klinghammer and his friend found themselves a bit too bored.

In fact, the younger bison are the ones doing the chasing! The wolves are perfectly content to sneak around them and snag a few apples off the ground, then scent roll in some far-away bison dung. The purpose of the presentation is to provide all three parties with some entertainment and to show one of those parties what you won't see on TV.
