Hooded mergansers are definitely my favorite kind of duck
I just saw one in the wild a few weeks ago for the first time; it was paddling around in a swamp waaay off-trail at a local forest preserve.

This is not that duck.
He lives at the Milwaukee County Zoo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which I went to for New Year's
